It looks like Julius Peppers jerseys are the hot new barbecue item for Chicago Bears tailgates.
As the Bears-Packers rivalry -- raging since 1921 -- is among the fiercest in the NFL, it's no surprise that Windy City football fans were unhappy when Peppers, a free agent, recently inked a three-year contract with the Green Bay.
One disgruntled fan showed his disapproval of the Peppers defection by crafting a makeshift spit and blasting Metallica's "Seek And Destroy" as he set the defensive end's jersey ablaze. You can also hear him elicit a quick "Da Bears!" before the #90 jersey crumples to ash.
Another Bears fan went the simpler route by eschewing the heavy metal and the hanging device and just dousing a pair of Peppers jerseys in lighter fluid (audio slightly NSFW):
While the jerseys in the second video were helped along by some accelerant, perhaps the scariest thing about the exercise is the apparent flammability of NFL jerseys. Hopefully any cigar-smoking, booze-soaked Bears fans know how to stop, drop and roll.
