Anida "Cookie" Cohen is without a doubt the brilliant individual who comes to mind when nonprofit organizers and public leaders find themselves in need of a remarkable and profitable event! Throughout Chicago, Mrs. Cohen is highly recognized for her charitable endeavors and her loyal advocacy for children and their causes. Along with her substantial support of organizations, such as the Infant Welfare Society and the Be a Star Foundation, Cookie has served on countless charitable boards in Chicago, all of these roles being just the beginning of her success story.
The vivacious, stunning blonde is very well known for her spectacular events. Cookie has been hosting charity parties, events, balls and benefits since the '70s. Some of Cookie's biggest achievements have come from her involvement with the Chicago Academy for the Arts. Through the Arts Academy, Cohen has intervened to bring opportunities to a number of underserved students. She has chaired countless events for these students, established the Max and Cookie Cohen Scholarship Fund and the organized an extravagant 25th Anniversary celebration event -- just a few of the ways in which Cohen is still involved with the Arts Academy today.
Familiar with the performing arts herself, Cohen has the advantage of being able to really connect with the students, sharing experiences from her 30 years of modeling, dancing and acting. It was Cohen's striking good looks and talent, combined with a keen ability to transform herself, that initially launched her career in film, radio and television. Since then she has been featured in TV commercials, served as spokeswoman for a variety of products and still models for charity luncheons and events!
In addition to all this, Cookie is also a very accomplished horsewoman. In fact, she enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, like boating and scuba diving. She is an adventurer, and lives life to the fullest. She's the only person I know who can live both in the clouds with youthful optimism and down to earth with mature ethics and drive. Capturing this sentiment is something she is often heard saying: "Time, patience and perseverance accomplish all things."
And she's not one to rest on her laurels. This phenomenally accomplished philanthropist is still widely involved with her community. Cookie's upcoming event on May 14th for The Chicago Lighthouse Annual Dinner is going to be an unforgettable night. This annual event celebrates the innovative work The Chicago Lighthouse does on behalf of veterans and people who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled. These accomplishments are proof of Cookie's selfless nature and constant effort to give back to the community. With her love for children, animals and women, she serves the community in great ways. Her honorable and successful efforts have made a difference in the lives of many.
Cookie Cohen is incomparable!
