Kendrick Lamar's 7- Minute Video For 'Alright' Is A Must-Watch

Two days after his opening performance at this year’s annual BET Awards, Kendrick Lamar unleashed the video for his “Alright."

Produced by Pharrell Williams, "Alright" is the third single off Lamar's latest album "To Pimp A Butterfly." The provocative seven-minute clip, directed by Colin Tilley, confronts police brutality in America with evocative imagery shot in black and white.

In one scene, a police officer shoots a fleeing man in the back.

Another is a powerful simulation of a rapper being shot off of a light pole by a patrol man.

Tilley, the director, described the concept and the process of making the video with MTV News
. “It basically shows the state of everything that’s going on in the world right now,” he said. “It’s also showing how one man can basically spread positivity through all of the madness that’s going on and how everything is gonna be alright.”
