Qawmane Wilson Accused Of Orchestrating Mother's Murder In Chicago To Enrich Himself

A man from Chicago's West Side has been charged with masterminding the murder of his hairdresser mother to get money from her bank accounts and life insurance policies, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Qawmane Wilson, 24, and two accomplices were charged this week with the alleged murder of Yolanda Holmes in early September. The deceased Uptown salon owner had more than $90,000 in her bank account, which Wilson withdrew a week after her stabbing and shooting death on Sept. 2, according to CBS Chicago.

Wilson, who has his mother's name tattooed on his shoulder, according to the Chicago Sun Times, allegedly admitted to police that he had his mother knifed and gunned down for "financial gain."

Police contend that Wilson hired Eugene Spencer, 22, to carry out the killing, station WLS reported. Lorian Johnson, 23, was arrested for allegedly driving the getaway car from Holmes' apartment.

The trio was charged on Tuesday with murder and home invasion, DNA Info reported. Spencer faces the additional charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm, DNA Info reported.
