Police are looking for two Hispanic male suspects after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the city's West Side Monday evening.
The teen girl was reportedly walking south of Western Avenue in the 2300 block of West Cermak around 5 p.m. when two men dragged the teen into an alley and assaulted her, CBS Chicago reports.
The victim, who told police she lost consciousness during the attack, was treated for a head wound.
"They grabbed her at the mouth of the alley and they pulled her, started pulling her towards the middle of the alley," the victim's sister told ABC Chicago. "[The victim] believes that they hit her over the head and then because they were holding her with her mouth closed, she believes, that the doctors believe that she passed out just from not being able to get enough breath."
Family says the girl attends a Chicago public school "highly rated in academics" and that the teen commutes home after school each evening on the CTA Pink Line.
Police described the alleged attackers as Hispanic men in their 20s, DNAinfo Chicago reports. According to a community alert, one of the men is about 5-foot-9 weighing between 170-190 pounds with a medium complexion, dark hair, mustache and tattoo of letters across his chest.
The second man was described as about 5-foot-7 weighing between 180-200 pounds with a medium complexion, goatee and tattoo around his left eye. Both men wore all black.
Residents with information are urged to be careful and call detectives at 312-747-8380 with any information.
