Veteran Beer Company Aims To Brew 'The Most Important Beer In America'

Of the many ways to show support for America's veterans -- a group that continues to struggle with high jobless rates -- drinking beer isn't exactly one of them. That is, until now.

Enter the Veteran Beer Company. The Chicago-based microbrewery is addressing the job challenges faced by new veterans by attempting to fill nearly all of its roles with former servicemembers. Founder Paul Jenkins, a former-Navy pilot, says that the company will hire 3,500 veterans within five years and donate 10 percent of profits to veterans' causes.

“I want the private sector to realize that the U.S. military veteran is the greatest human resource in this country,” Jenkins told Fox News Insider.

The company's two signature beers, Blonde Bomber and the Veteran Amber Lager, debuted to the public in Chicago on Veteran's Day last month, according to WGN.

"They're trained to be leaders in the military. There's no reason that they can't be leaders in the civilian work force," Watson, brand ambassador Chad Watson told WGN.

The beers are currently only available in Illinois and Indiana, but Jenkins has national aspirations for what he calls "the most important beer in America."

We can drink to that.
